Patrick Brauer is a partner in Katz, Sapper & Miller’s Employee Benefit Plan Services Group. He has been engaged in the practice of public accounting and employee benefits consulting since 1993. Patrick has considerable experience providing ERISA audits to all types of qualified employee benefit plans and serves as technical or engagement quality reviewer on several complex plan audit engagements. He coordinates the firm’s participation in the American Institute of CPAs Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center as well as the firm’s training program on Employee Benefit Plans. Patrick stays current on legislative, regulatory and accounting issues that impact the employee benefit plan industry. 

Patrick also has extensive experience in the design, implementation, administration, compliance and reporting aspects of qualified retirement plans, including pension, profit sharing, 401(k), 403(b) and ESOPs. He has represented clients during IRS and DOL audits and has assisted them with submissions under the IRS Employee Plans Compliance Resolution System (EPCRS).
