Charland, Marciano & Company, CPAs, LLP was formed in 1982, when founding partners William Charland and Alfred Marciano decided to buy out the small practice where they were employed. The new firm grew quickly, steadily adding employees and services.

Many of the firm’s early clients were manufacturers, especially in the jewelry industry. This was a natural extension for Al, whose family was involved in the costume jewelry industry in Providence. Other early clients were physicians and small medical practices.

As Rhode Island’s business landscape changed, the jewelry manufacturers closed or moved, and the physician practices were absorbed into large health care corporations. To keep pace, the firm changed too, expanding our client base to a wide variety of industries, and our expertise to serve the needs of those industries.
