Michael Heaton is a partner in Katz, Sapper & Miller’s Healthcare Resources Group. He has engaged in the practice of public accounting and healthcare consulting since 1976. Michael has extensive healthcare consulting experience and provides in-depth consulting in the areas of practice management, physician compensation, practice start-ups, practice valuations, third-party reimbursement, practice mergers and reorganizations, retirement plans, personal financial planning, managed care contracting, and group practice design. He also has expertise in the taxation of medical practices, dental practices, professional corporations, not-for-profit organizations, S corporations, and individuals.

EDUCATION

Michael received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Indiana University.

Michael is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Healthcare Financial Management Association, the Indiana CPA Society, the Medical Group Management Association, the Institute of Certified Financial Planners, the International Association for Financial Planning, the National Association of Healthcare Consultants, the Society of Professional Business Consultants, and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. He has served on the board of directors of the American Pianist Association and currently serves on the board of directors of Metropolitan Indianapolis Public Broadcasting, WFYI, and the Indiana Repertory Theatre.
