Michael J. Smith II  -  Partner, Shareholder, President of McFarlin & Brokke, PC

In 2009, Michael joined McFarlin & Brokke, PC.  He expanded his leadership role in 2014, becoming a partner and shareholder.  In 2019, Michael was appointed to serve as the firm's president.  Michael’s areas of expertise include corporate and individual tax consulting and compliance, and wealth management.  He works with owners of businesses in areas of accounting and assurance, financial reporting, reviews, audits, and consulting services.

Michael contributes to local efforts with Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Nebraska’s Young Leaders Council.  Additionally, he is a board member and finance committee chair of Bemis Center for the Contemporary Arts. 

Michael is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Nebraska Society of CPAs, and SPN – Senior Partner Network, (an affiliation of CPA firms with offices in New York, Massachusetts, Michigan, Georgia, Tennessee, Missouri, Texas and Nebraska).

Mr. Smith earned his Master of Professional Accountancy degree in 2008 from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. 

Michael’s interests include faith, family, friends, sports (golf), learning, and cooking.
